Mr Gig is made by Manicgrin Media Ltd. This page covers the website at mrgig.com.

Accounts

If you create an account we store your name, email, password hash, and whether you are a contractor or an agent. We send a confirmation email. We do not store passwords in plain text.

Contractor data

Profiles, CVs, agent address books, and activity logs belong to the contractor who created them. CVs are stored on the server, outside the public website folder, and are only handed out to you, to an agent you sent them to, when you attach one in a conversation, or when you apply for a job.

When you send a CV through Mr Gig, we email the file to the address you typed, log the send, and give that person a link to view the introduction and optionally create an agent account.

Agent data

If you join as an agent we store your company details, jobs you post, and applications you receive. Contacts that contractors added with your email can be linked to your account when you sign up or log in.

Email

When you send a note through Mr Gig, we store the message and email a copy to the other person, with Reply-To set to your address so they can reply directly. If you attach a CV to a reply in a conversation, the PDF goes with that email and we keep a record of which version was sent.

CV extract

If you use extract, the CV text or PDF is sent to Anthropic (Claude) so we can draft a bio, skills and seniority for you to edit. We do not use that for advertising. You can skip extract and type the profile yourself.

Analytics

We are not running analytics on this site at the moment.

Cookies

A session cookie keeps you logged in while the browser is open. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings.

What we do not do

We do not sell data, run ads, or build advertising profiles. We do not put API keys in the browser.
