The Mercurials

"The Mercurials is the name of our acoustic duo, Bernard Eveleigh and Paul Minter.  We write and perform our own songs and instrumentals with some additional arranged covers; Kurt Weil, Ray Charles, The Doors for example.  The material for our act strikes a balance of musical styles which provides diversity and variety giving us a means of expression and improvisation.  We use a number of styles - Spanish, Jazz, Folk and Blues, these styles are somehow soaked up through musical histories and memory, we are biased to stamp these musical forms with our own character, so that these influences sound ’mercurial’.  What we are not, are musicologists.  Our association goes back 14 years, when Paul singled me out for my guitar playing abilities.  Paul is measured, ordered and has fluid technical ability combined with facilities for lighting speed.  My contribution is to write the songs.  We formed The Mercurials in late 2004 and our credo is to play the best we can and make each performance singular. "
