MelonHeadMan area four-piece Southern Rock outfit from the UK. Formed in September 2002 bySimon Savage. After a couple of personnel changes the band line-up nowcomprises of Simon Savage – vocals, guitar & slide, Tim Farmer on rhythm& slide guitar, Vincent Ripley on drums and Jem Humberstone – lead guitar.
All songs arewritten by Simon Savage and reflect a lifelong love affair with Southern Rockmusic. “I grew-up listening to Black Oak Arkansas, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The AllmanBrothers and Molly Hatchet to name but a few” says Simon Savage. “This coupledwith a strong interest in American history and culture led me to go back to myfirst passion (Southern Rock) when it came to forming the band MelonHeadMan.”
When it comes toplaying live, DJ Paul Chamberlain from rock radio station ARfm, best sums itup: “Last year I received a CD from Kent based boogie band MelonHeadMan, and asblown away as I was - live they’re even better. I highly recommend this band.”
MelonHeadMan arecurrently touring the southeast of England building on their existing fan base.
