I liked the Kings Of Leon very much on Glasto.
I'd never heard them before.
Should I buy some?

It's the general principle, really.
I got fed up of buying 'risk' CDs years ago because it can be so disappointing and money-wasting.

Taking my dog to a dog show all day.
I'd like  views on the group - and the risk-buying principle - by the time I'm back with my dog.
Or it's a class detention.

i don't like their hair and find them to be contrived in their ''coolness' so i've always steered away from them.

Kings of Leon are fantastic. Everything fits for me; and that voice! You won't go far wrong in my opinion buying all 3, you can normally pick their first two albums up pretty cheaply in zavvi.

The voice was a major reason, theo.  Plus the simplicity.  Plus the holding off the gas.

Bryan, I saw them 4 times last year and without doubt they are one of my favourite bands of all time. We play 6 of their songs in our set.

Buy the first one ( youth and young manhood ) first, then the second ( aha shake heartbreak ) and then save the third one ( because of the times ) till last.

That way you will see how much they have progressed.

They are like marmite, and it is too easy to dismiss them. They have tunes, lots of them and to watch them is to understand just how diverse a simple 2 guitars, bass and drums can be.

On top of that, they are one of the few bands that can produce their sound live.

I am sure you know but they are 3 brothers and one cousin and their father's name was Leon hence the name.

I hope you enjoy.

Hi Stuart.

I knew you were a fan because you've posted about them before.  I wanted to see what you would add.

I have no bio on these guys.  No preconceptions.  I just liked what I heard.

Most of the other groups I've seen at Glastonbury on late night TV have been boring as hell, and often not players to speak of.  (Is it just me?  I don't know.  So many weak guitar chord based songs of no distinction.  I could play along straight away).

This lot - from out of nowhere - made me attentive.

It tells me I'm still alive.

for me aha shake heartbreak is a bit hit and miss, i love the singles off it and a couple of others, but some if it is quite dull. loved the first album though, and i didn't get the third one yet.
