A whole bunch of people have just spilled into my office and started bitching about the German win with phrases like, "the Turks totally dominated that game, the Germans shouldn't have won", ad nauseum.... Now if you know me then you'll no my *ahem* 'appreciation of the beautiful game stops at respecting folk who support their nearest local team - if pushed I say Arsenal because I grew up in Abbey Wood which is but free kick from Woolwich, their homeplace. Now feel free to lambast me if I've genuinely got this all wrong but surely the team that scores the most points is the rightful victor?? Now my (limited) understanding of this situation is that German scored more goals and thus one the match, right? Then surely it is time for everyone to say "well done you sausage snaffling chappies, a righteous victory and no mistake guv"?
