when i was learning about paganism when i was converting, i came across this little bit talking about satanism and the fact that despite what they label themselves, they're not pagans at all, they're actually practicing inverted christianity . |

Its an interesting one, because of course the main idea of God being forgiving didn't really appear until the new Testament.
The Devil, Satan, etc thing is interesting, because if you consider the way a lot of mainly American far right christian nutters think about Jesus and God, technically the Devil is a force for, well, nothing. Ask one of the nutters why if Jesus and God love us, then why do things like natural disasters happen, and you'll be told that it was a test of faith etc. It's never the Devil that is deemed to have caused it, its always the God Squad, which would surely therefore mean that in the eyes of some, every single bad thing that happens in this world is caused by God and ignored by Satan.
Is there not also an idea that Satan is actually still in the employment of God? (Please excuse the crude lingo), He's meant to be summing up all the things that God can't, like temptation, betrayal etc. It comes down to that idea of God being an examiner again....
Of course, I don't believe any of it. Don't mind Christians and I hope I've offended none with what I've blathered on about. |

I dismiss all other possible gods because my gods are not conscious, judgmental entities they are energies. but i get your point. seriously though, when i said wicca pagan, how many of you just rolled your eyes and it just added to the idea that i am a mental hippy? i'd love to know. pagan has got such a bad reputation but thats mostly thanks to jehovas witnesses. |

well i read a lot of jehova's witness stuff that was criticising anything pagan. thats why they cant celebrate birthdays or the 25th of december. and lots of other stuff, too. im not saying a lot of pagans dont make their own reputation, i read this one thing where they were trying to get me to stain my own rune disks by shoving them up my fairy when i was menstrating. but yeah im only just getting in to it, but i do really like it. |
