Does anyone remember All Mod Cons, the American Jam tribute band. The singer Barry Pugatch was hilarious when he did his Weller accent between songs. Nice bloke though. He really loved The Jam. Looked nothing like Weller at all and was about 6ft 6 or something stupid.

Ha! I remeber them JJ. Saw them at Wolves Civic and they were wicked. Good lads to from what I remember. Had a good session with them after the gig.

No chance. It is not the Jam without Weller. He was the talent, the songwriter and the main part of the group. I want to know if when Foxton and Buckler finally retire, the other two pretenders will take the name for themselves so you'll have something like From from the Jam or Russell Hasting's The Jam.

Don't get me wrong, I am not that impressed with Weller carting out the old Jam stuff and killing it (most of the time). I just wish the three of them would get back together or just leave it all alone. Having said that with Weller hitting 50 on Sunday I wonder if it would be all that good to see.

Yeah, All Mod Cons were great fun. I never got to see them live but chatted with Barry a couple of times. We rubbed shoulders in a few fanzines too.  I know Weller signed his Rickenbacker for him at some point. I would love to see them have another bash at it.

I got a bit choked up when we did Thick as Thieves at the last gig. I love that song. Lee and I were talking about Setting Sons last night. It is a great album but there are two things I would change. I would replace the album version of Smithers Jones with the B-Side of When You're Young version and also included When You're Young on the album instead of Heatwave. A silly thing I know but there you go.

Yes Thick as Thieves! Fucking brilliant!
