Last night (Sat 10th May) saw CROW play their first gig since reforming after 13 years. They played a trial set at a 40th birthday party for guitarist Chris's brother Dom (drummer from SHILLING WHORES, previously of TEMPLEMER, CHROMOSOME, NINE and DOOR MARKED SUMMER) at the Whitstable Footbal Club. SHILLING WHORES also played a set as support.

At the moment CROW consists of just the 3-piece core of the band (Chris - Guitar, Mike - Bass, Martin - Drums). Didgeridoo-player Mark will probably become involved as the band build up their set again.

Last night's set consisted of : "Ayermandominar", "So Very Old", "Apsaroke", "Poppy Fields", "Trance" and "NN1".  The epic tribal live favourite "Conditioning" had to be dropped at the last minute due to time constraints. The band were certainly firing on all cylinders, and were obviously enjoying themselves immensely, the intimate nature of the venue making for a fantastic gig.

Plans are developing for future gigs, details will be announced as and when.

Sorry, their set also included "E-Mosh". The exact order of the middle few songs is uncertain.

See you all again soon I hope and thanks for everything!

...and can I just say what an awesome experience it was seeing them again! I remember the old days of Whitstable Assembly Rooms gigs. Glad to hear it was an official "re-forming", I thought it was just a 1 off. I did think that it could either have gone very well or terribly but was pleased to say that it didn't feel dated or tired at all.

I have a couple of photos of the night that I'll Facebook.

Shilling Whores played a mean set too. Probably thebest I've heard them sond so far (Drac's Matone guitar tone was pure joy!)

Bring on more Crow!!! Woo!

Ben

Didn't realise you were there, Mohawk. I was the twat in the Crow t-shirt dancing at the front with a shit-eating grin on my face...

Grin

I'm definately interested in those photos.  I keep meaning to put photos on my website, but the only one of Crow that exists is that unclear one from the "Tides..." inlay.

I was stood just to the right of you then, just by the decks. I was wearing a grey "Planet of the Apes" Charlton Heston kissing a monkey T-shirt and have shaggy kinda mid length blonde hair. The onlyperson there I remember in a Crow Tshirt was Stumpy.

Anyway... enough of this pseudo-dating malarkey! When I get round to it I'll upload and link the photos

Yeah, Stumpy had the "official" old totem-pole T-Shirt (mine's too worn to wear these days!). I had a home-made one with the cover of the "Tides Of Apsaroke" printed on it -- Chris liked it so much he wants me to do him one!

I was beginning to wonder about that Tides of Apsaroke t-shirt, thought I had missed a large chunk of my own life. Couldn't remember making them. I too fancy one of those! Twas good though.

You got them there photos up yet, Mohawk?

I failed spectacularly to appear in any of ffruk's photos of last Saturday's Ozrics gig. Though I'm convinced you can just about see my pony-tail sticking out from behind some bloke.

If anyone has got it I seriously want a copy. I've been on at them for ages to do me a copy of their old stuff (and the 1st 3-song Crow demo), but so far no joy.

I never saw Door Marked Summer, but from what I understand they were awesome. My old band Elemental supported their later band Nine at the Planet Lazer in Canterbury, and they played DMS's "Dance Around Your Head" -- an absolute monster of a track.

Don't suppose you can remember any details of the gig (date, who else played)? I only have a couple of their gigs listed on the website. Couple of nice posters.
