Can You Feel The Love Tonight by Elton... 'Kings and burger bars (vagabonds)' -I was 8 or 9 at the time mind.
Had a delightful old dear at work (Co-op) tell me that we should be reported for playing filth on the instore radio. When questioned, I was told 'Well... how dare you have someone singing 'play that f***king music white boy'... Octogenarian bliss.

Somebody once said to my sister about the Free number 'All Right Now', "How can they play that on the radio when he sings: 'Let's move before they raise the fucking rate'".

I always heard it as "I believe in Melkor" (a character from Tolkien's books). I was a geek. |

As a kid I grooved along to Micheal Jackson ( inbetween serious bouts of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Led Zep 4) and always though he was singing "you're a vegetable, you're a vegetable" during one of the breaks in the song 'Wanna be startin something' I just googled it......................well f*ck me with a rusty boathook and call me Shirly if the mixed up monochrome kiddy fandangler (un proven) wasn't actually singing that all along! Who'd have guessed??????
So in answer to the question "d'you wanna be startin' something?" the obvious answer would be, "well, a nice salad" seems logical at this point.... Edited: Icon - Sun 18 May 2008 (7:41PM) |

Just remembered this one: When I was about 4, Godley & Creme had a massive hit with a really haunting song. I spent ages wondering how anyone could be "Under Your Farm Forever"...

I remember a godawful song from the 80's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HvaUpgIfWk and thought the chorus said "Every time you go away, you take a piece of MEAT with you" |

Like a lot of people, I spent at least 10 years in the 80s, and I do remember wondering why "Lorraine's Down In Africa"...
... and why Michael Jackson was waffling on about a "Librarian Girl" Edited: johnwood666 - Wed 2 Jul 2008 (12:46AM) |

i used to listen to that album all the time when i was a boy when it came out and always had a picture in my head of him wooeing some spectacled type in a library!
There was a sing by New Kids On The Block called I'll Be Loving You Forever (i think) and i'm sure somewhere in it was the line 'i've heard of back seats they put on the loo, there's one for me and a million for you', to this day i don't know what it actually was, yet i had an image of a special cushioned seat on the shitter! |
