I think this new look website (for the whole country) is never gonna take off in my opinion because Mr Gig is a localised network for friends and musicians to chat music in Kent... If there is no-one outside kent (other than the offchance of finding Mr gig on google or through advertising which costs money) accessing this website (to liase with other local musicians that are local to them), then I cant understand how Mrgig will take off nationally?

The only way would be through a MrGig local member of Kent moving away and spreading the word...

Just a thought...

free advertising would be beneficial. I'm sure there is plenty of radio stations (college and shit ones) that would gladly plug this if they had free advertising.

Failing that, get Barry Scott to do a tv ad.

We may have added extra forums and some new features but this isn't the new look at all, this is a intermediate site, watch this space and be amazed.. Wink

Once the new Mr Gig is launched it'll make more sense as the site localises automatically.  You'll simply have to enter your post code and you'll only see local information, forums, news etc.

That's been one of the challenges whilst recreating the site, how to make it local yet global.  Hopefully we've suceeded.

If not then we'll be contacting Barry Scott !

So with me trading places constantly with Southampton and Dover...do  i get to swap post codes dependent on where I'm on?

I like the idea a lot though.

I'd assume it will work like the gig search, where it remembers your location but you can still change it.

If I'm honest... the new forums have put me off using the website, too much there to take in on a first glance kind of thing.

It's is a bit too much. You could design a direct link to local gigs for local people? A big one for inbreads to read easily. Or maybe just a picture link? Grin

I thinks it's great that Mr Gig is spreading out a bit. Cool
