Max. I think 'I Am Your Robot' from Jump Up (1982) is Elton's most dreadful moment. "My serial number is 4 4 3 5 7". Or whatever. It is terrible. Joan of Arc's 'merchandise' schlock is a close second. Jump Up is the CD with BLUE EYES on it. (Folks). (Not Max). It came on randomly when I was taking a bath in our attic in Sheffield. |

It is pretty dire Bryan has to be said. Wrong feel, register... it's just all wrong. Sad really. Forced. Although forced lyrics have slipped through the net a couple of times from Toots Taupin. 'Me I carry too much baggage / Oh man I've seen so much traffic' Fabulous song, but questionable rhyming! We love him.

I feel I should retract some of the acidity of my Billy Bragg statement.
M For Me is actually a quite pleasant song...the rest of the album is shit though. |

A double whammy of disillusionment.

Red Carpet Massacre, the first of Duran Duran's album I haven't been able to take to which is a shame as I went to the launch thing at the Lyceum Theatre and was disappointed until they did the older stuff. |
