Another project I've just started working on is "Spanish, French or Dutch" the Goes Solo song book, full of tabs and chords to the songs I play!

Its started on the Follow The Bear Records forum with Tina Said No and Sunny Whitsun Days.

I think these videos, not jut the JGS ones, are awesome. I love the idea of people sitting in their bedrooms, playing the songs they've written and putting them up on the internet for the world to see. There is something very endearing about it.... it's very personal, very real....

Grin

I've been essaying like an essayer...

I agree with Russell.  Its just a lovely easy way for musical tards like me to get heard.  If I had the balls I'd talk about the songs and whatnot, but I'm sticking with the whacking the songs straight in for now.

Any plays on Kentunsigned.com (therefore bumping me up the chart) would be greatly appreciated.  I should put some fresh music on there really...

Also, looking for shows in the summer...probably with the JGS band...

It does work, honest...

I've also been working on some full on electric band stuff, doing Sunny Whitsun Days and Des Lynams Countdown Love Song with some folks from uni, which will be a nice contrast from the acousticy based backing band I've got set up back home.

I played Hamptons in Southampton tonight.

Was rather bizarre.  I think the sound was a bit weird.

I started with Understanding Annie and Des Lynams Countdown Love Song.  Feedback problems put me off, but I soldiered on and made some changes to the mixer.  Then Tina (including the intro line "I'm from Dover, a leafy suburb of Calais")...more feedback but it was ok.  Epics good.  Jimmy and Jade was good.

Playground Days was awesome, Shore's End was good.  Sunny Whitsun Days was awesome, Little Love Notes was terrible.  Finished with the Most Romantic Songs which was good.

I've never played a set so all over the place.  It was like there was a light switch in my head and someone was going "Now suffer...now be awesome!".

On the other hand, I gave the lovely lovely barmaid a CD. She's lovely.

This is a song called "Playground Days".  Its a bit older than the stuff on here.  I rarely play it live because I always think its too high, but it always seems to go down well.

It helps to not post it as an image...

There are a couple of Placemats songs now uploaded on myspace.

There is also a spanking new myspace layout which gives you the first chance to see the lovely artwork by Dan Corder.

I'm recording a couple of songs on Thursday, probably electric solo, probably Des Lynams Countdown Love Song and another, that'll be just for myspace and the internet...
