Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add a performer to Mr Gig ?

To have your performer added to Mr Gig please fill in the New Performer form.   We will then add your performer to the database.  Read on for more info on managing your profile.

How do I manage my own performer details ?

To be able to manage your own performer(s) we need to link your MrGig User ID with your Performers ID.

Once this is done you will see a list of performers that you manage on the home page and several extra options on the Perfomers page itself.

Send an email to bands@mrgig.com with your MrGig user-name and performer details to activate this.

How do I add my venue to MrGig ?

To add a venue to MrGig, simply fill in the New Venue form.

How do I add my gigs ?

There are two ways to have your local gigs included in the gig search:

  • If you are set up to manage your band/performer, go to the performers page and select the Edit Gigs option at the top of the Gig List section. (You need to have your MrGig user account linked to your band for this to work - see above).
  • Alternatively, email the gig details to giglist@mrgig.com and we will add them for you.

How do I add/edit my gigs ?

If you have rights to edit your band details, you will find an Edit Gigs link at the top right hand side of your performer page, above the gig listing.  This will take you to the Gig Edit page.

On the Edit Gig page, your gig details are automatically filled in down the right hand side.

To search for a Venue, click the  icon on the left hand side next to the word Venue.  This will launch the Venue Search pop-up.  See the notes below for further information on searching for Venues.

Once you have found the venue in the venue selector pop-up and clicked on it you will be returned to the main gig editor.  The left hand side of the page will be populated with the gigs at that venue.

Now select the relevant month from the drop down box in the middle, then click the date below to add your gig.

When the selected venue and selected performer match up on a specific date, the whole row turns yellow to indicate the gig.

Ho do I find venues in the gig editor?

In the Venue Search pop-up, you don't need to enter the full name of the venue.  Just enter the first few characters and press enter.

For example, to search for the Britannia, Margate, you can simply type:

brit

To refine the search further, you can specify a location after a comma:

Brit, Mar

Further examples - several ways to find the South Eastern Tavern:

s e t
sou e
so,a

If you still cannot find a venue, email us at venues@mrgig.com, with the address and postcode if you know it, and we'll make sure it's added.

Why has my account been Suspended, ASBO'd or Banned ?

The Mr Gig committee feels that if an individual is using the site or its forums to incite conflict, make unproven allegations, or to make a post that the Mr Gig committee considers to be an attack on another user, band or organization, then Mr Gig reserves the right to suspend, ban or terminate either on a temporary or permanent basis, the access of the individual to the forums and/or site at a user-name and/or IP address level.

If such a ban or suspension is deemed necessary and put into place, Mr Gig may or may not at its own discretion review the matter at a later date. Any decision to reinstate, continue suspension or to permanently delete an account will be at the sole discretion of the Mr Gig committee. In the event that Mr Gig agrees to lift a suspension or ban, the user will be notified by email. Any decision reached by the committee will be final and Mr Gig will have no obligation or commitment to enter into or answer any further correspondence regarding the ban from either the user(s) concerned or any third party acting on behalf of the suspended or banned user(s).
