Bluetown Sheikhs

We are called the Bluetown Sheikhs and perform blues covers in something close to a traditional Chicago style with guitar, harmonica, bass and drums. The personnel are all older local musicians who have been performing for a little while and have other musical projects on the go. Whilst this band has only been operational since Christmas, we are all experienced musicians, most of whom have been playing for over twenty years.
We like to create a relaxed, easy-going performance and have frequently been known to perform songs for the first time on stage when only one member of the band knows it. Don't worry; it works out fine.
Artists covered include Muddy Waters, Slim Harpo, Howlin Wolf, Canned Heat, Jimmy Reed, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Willie Dixon, Elvis. If that list looks a little obscurist, please be assured that people tend to enjoy it once they hear it. |
