The Apollo Victoria Theatre is a theatre close to Victoria station in London.
The building was build in the art deco style by E. Warmsley Lewis in 1930. Originally a cinema it closed in 1975, six years later it was reopened as a London theatre, Shirley Bassey played the opening night.
For 18 years, the theatre became home to Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, Starlight Express, the theatre was extensively redesigned to accommodate a multi-tier roller skating arena.
Currently the home of the fantastic Wicked, based on the novel by Gregory Maguire that develops the stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum in ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’.
