Sometimes incorrectly referred to as the Ambassador Theatre (without the s on ambassadors), the New Ambassadors Theatre is situated in the Charing Cross area of central London. With a stage measuring just 6.25 meters, this really is a unique theatre venue. Probably best known as the original home of the long running Agatha Christie thriller The Mousetrap, The Ambassadors Theatre ran the production from the 25th November 1952 through to 25th March 1974 when it moved to St Martin's. As popular today as in the early production days, The Ambassadors Theatre continues to draw the crowds with it's high profile productions and unique characteristics. Although small, the Ambassadors Theatre is as equipped as any with three bars and areas that sell ice-cream and confectionary. The Theatre is also accessible by wheelchair although wheelchair visitors will still be required to walk a short distance and up a few steps. Located in central London, The Ambassadors Theatre is easily accessible by public transport with Charing Cross station being the closest main line station and Leicester Square / Tottenham Court Road being the closest London underground tube stations to The New Ambassadors Theatre. The theatre is also easily accessible by bus and taxi cab. If you are driving to a performance at The Ambassadors Theatre, car parking is available at the Masterpark car park located at Cambridge Circus or Poland Street. NCP at Newport Place, Wardour St, Denman St, Lexington St & Brewer Street, Spring Gardens and Trafalgar Square.
